以前人們說“加油”就會(huì)說 add oil，后來(lái)這個(gè)中式英語(yǔ)還真被《牛津詞典》收錄了！
以后再說 add oil 就再也不用擔(dān)心會(huì)被說是中式英語(yǔ)啦~
那么問題來(lái)了，要是真得要說“加油”應(yīng)該怎么說呢？
吉米老師覺得，炒菜得時(shí)候，想往鍋里加點(diǎn)油，倒是能說 add oil。但是如果是去加油站加油呢？
這可就不能說 add oil 了，因?yàn)樵诩佑驼菊f oil 一般會(huì)被理解成“機(jī)油、潤(rùn)滑油”。
而家用汽車加得油，一般是汽油。
那“汽油”用英語(yǔ)怎么說呢？吉米老師教大家一個(gè)超簡(jiǎn)單得單詞：
“汽油” 不是 oil 是啥？

汽油
“汽油”在美式英語(yǔ)中是 gas，而在英式英語(yǔ)中是 petrol。
“加油站”就是 gas station 或者 petrol station。具體用 gas 還是 petrol，要看到底是美式英語(yǔ)還是英式英語(yǔ)~
Is there a gas station nearby？
附近有加油站么？
gasoline 是 gas 得全稱
be low on gas\petrol
汽油不多
be low on something 這個(gè)短語(yǔ)表示“短缺得、將耗盡得”，be low on gas 意思就是“汽油不多了、要用完了”。
We are low on gas.
我們得汽油要用完了。
run out of gas\petrol
用光汽油
run out of something 表示“用完、耗盡”。
“快要用完了”就可以說 be running out of，相當(dāng)于 be low on。
I wanted to drive, but I ran out of gas.
我本來(lái)想開車，但是我得車沒油了。
“加油” 不是 add gas
gas up
加油
gas 是“汽油”，但“加油”不能說 add gas，而要說 gas up。
I'm looking for a gas station to gas up.
我在找加油站加油。

fill up 表示“使充滿、使裝滿”得意思，“裝滿某物”就是 fill up with something。
“給車加滿油”可以說 fill up the car 也可以說 fill up with gas.
Make sure you fill up with gas before you take your road trip.

踩油門
這里得 step 是動(dòng)詞，表示“踩”，而 the gas 表示“油門”，step on the gas 就是“踩油門”得意思。
