最近雅思口語出了一些貌似很簡單，卻又讓很多同學哭笑不得的題目，我們接下來就一起來看看：

Describe an object that you think is beautiful .

You should say :

What it is

Where you saw it

what it looks like

And explain why you think it is beautiful

一眼看過去，整道題就是最基本的題型，而且都是最簡單的英文單詞，考試遇到這樣的題目應該覺得該不會是送分題吧？

前面幾個問題隨便說了saw it at a shop, in a museum , at someone's place...覺得自己已經(jīng)很輕松把見到這個物品的經(jīng)過都簡單描述了一下自己見到這個物品的經(jīng)過，就到了最后一個問題：why do you think it is beautiful ? 這難道還是個問題嗎？！

不對，平時我們習慣了說一個喜歡的東西，就是因為它“好看”，那說beautiful肯定不會錯了?？墒乾F(xiàn)在還要解釋一個物件為什么被認為是beautiful，出了說 it's nice, it's good-looking ...貌似詞窮了吧，那要怎么辦呢？

先別急，我們看一下要定義一樣東西首先看外表appearance，那起碼用褒義的形容詞good/ attractive/ popular/ interesting介紹shape, color , style ,design,等方面，如果是特殊material能增加質(zhì)感texture的話(不要尬說good quality），也可以提一下；想高分，就要把美的類型更具體一點的，比如：

1.with a harmonious balance of proportions/ shapes/ colors. 色彩搭配和諧的美

2. with a clean/ simple design which is easy on the eyes （順眼）/ elegant 優(yōu)雅大方的美

3. with a complex / intricate/ detailed design which is exceedingly mysterious / incredibly phenomenal 繁復華麗的驚艷，充滿神秘感的也是美

當然要說beautiful，描寫視覺效果是沒錯，但是未免太膚淺了，想拿高分，想不到考英文還要提升審美？

想一下平時說人beautiful，除了五官樣貌和身材比例，是不是還可以說“心靈美”？但是object又不是人，它哪里有“心靈”可以看呢？

我們換另一個角度看，物品都是被創(chuàng)造出來的，之所以能有beautiful呈現(xiàn)，功勞是不是應該歸它的創(chuàng)作者？我們來看看怎么表達兩者的關(guān)聯(lián)，從而體現(xiàn)物件的魅力之一—

首先，創(chuàng)作者一定要懂“創(chuàng)作”，而不是簡單的重復勞動，批量生產(chǎn)，那必須是有創(chuàng)意的creative, 有原創(chuàng)精神的original, innovative；

創(chuàng)作有可能會獨一無二的unique / stand out from the crowd ；

最后來看一下更高境界的升華美感，覺得美，不要直接說good feeling，可以說feelings of joy, pleasure ，awe, or serenity，

或者更高級一點，用情感共鳴表達美的意境：with emotional resonance: not only because of its physical attributes, but also because of the emotions it evokes in（me） / the connections with （me）triggering special / beautiful memory .
