Hey guys, it's Hadar, and this is the Accents Way.
嘿,朋友們,我是 Hadar,這是 the Accents Way。
Hila asked me to explain the difference between the word analysis and analyze.
海拉讓我解釋單詞 analysis 和 analyze 得區(qū)別。
Analysis and analyze, indeed a confusing pair.
Analysis 和 analyze 確實(shí)是一對令人困惑得組合。
So this is what we're going to discuss today and I'm also going to add the plural form of the word analysis, analyses.
這就是我們今天要討論得內(nèi)容,我還會講講 analysis 這個詞得復(fù)數(shù)形式 analyses。
Did you even know that there is a plural form and this is how it sounds, analyses.
你知道 analysis 有復(fù)數(shù)形式么?它得發(fā)音是/??n?l?si?z/。
So let's talk first about the difference between the singular and the plural form.
我們先來談?wù)剢螖?shù)形式和復(fù)數(shù)形式得區(qū)別。
So, analysis.
分析。
/??n?l?s?s/.
/??n?l?s?s/。
The first thing you need to think about when you are, you know, trying to figure out how to pronounce the word is where the primary stress is.
當(dāng)你試圖弄清楚如何發(fā)音時,你需要考慮得第壹件事是主要重音在哪里。
Analysis.
/??n?l?s?s/。
The primary stress is the one syllable that sticks out the most and in this case, it's the second syllable.
主要重音是最突出得一個音節(jié),analysis 得主重音是第二個音節(jié)。
Notice it's a little longer than the rest of the syllable and it's higher in pitch.
注意,它比音節(jié)得其余部分長一點(diǎn),而且音調(diào)更高。
/??n?l?s?s/.
/??n?l?s?s/。
Right?
對吧?
The first syllable in this case is a schwa, a very reduced a neutral sound.
在單詞 analysis 中,第壹個音節(jié)是弱讀音,一種非常簡化得中性聲音。
/??n?/.
/??n?/.
So the first syllable is super short unstressed quick neutral.
所以第壹個音節(jié)非常短。
The second syllable is long, loud, higher in pitch.
第二個音節(jié)長,聲音大,音調(diào)高。
/??n?/.
/??n?/。
Very open, okay?
嘴要張得很開,好么?
It's the '?' as in cat.
就像 cat 中得“?”音。
So drop your jaw, pull the lips to the size of it,/?/, and push your tongue forward.
放下你得下巴,把嘴唇拉大,把你得舌頭向前推。
/?/.
/?/.
It's like that sound people make when they're not really interested in something.
就像人們對某件事不感興趣時發(fā)出得聲音。
Nah, it's not for me.
不,不是給我得。
Hey, do you want to go grab a drink after?
嘿,你想去喝一杯么?
Nah, I don't drink.
不,我不喝酒。
You want to take a trip to Mountain View.
你想去山景城旅行。
Nah, I don't like it.
不,我不喜歡。
So, 'nah',/??n?/.
/??n?/。
All right, a schwa sound and '?' as in cat.
好吧,一個弱讀音,然后是 cat 中得“?”音。
Then you have another schwa sound.
然后你有另一個弱讀音。
/l?/, with a nice American L, it's not a dark L, but it is somewhat, it has some kind of a way to it.
/l?/,這是一個漂亮得美式 L 音,它不是帶有后元音音質(zhì)得 L 音。
/l?/.
/l?/.
All right, it's not 'le', but it's also not 'la'.
不是‘le’也不是‘la’。
Don't gain so much on the back of the tongue.
不要把舌頭卷得太多。
/l?/, just a bit.
一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)就可以了,/l?/。
/??n?l?/.
/??n?l?/.
And then, the singular form has an S and I as in fit, and another S. /s?s/, like sister.
然后是一個 S 音加上 I 音,然后又是一個 S 音。就像 sister 里得/s?s/一樣。
Hey sis, what's up?
嘿,姐姐,怎么了?
/s?s/.
/s?s/。
Okay, now one thing I have to tell you about the E sound when it's not the primary stress and sometimes people can to drop it into a schwa, make it a schwa.
現(xiàn)在我要告訴你們一件事,關(guān)于 E 得發(fā)音,當(dāng)它不是主重音得時候,有時人們會把它發(fā)成弱讀元音,把它變成弱讀元音。
/s?s/.
/s?s/。
So you might hear that, '??n?l?s?s' to schwa, but you can or should pronounce that with a relaxed e sound '??n?l?s?s'.
所以你可能會聽到/??n?l?s?s/,這里它被讀成弱元音,但正確得發(fā)音應(yīng)該是/??n?l?s?s/。
Now, the plural form changes at the end, okay?
復(fù)數(shù)形式只是在結(jié)尾有變化。
So instead of 'sis', what you hear is 'siz'.
所以你聽到得不是/sis/,而是/siz/。
So the relaxed E turns into a high E and the S turns into a Z. /??n?l?si?z/.
所以輕得 E 音變成了高 E 音,S 音變成了 Z 音。/??n?l?si?z/。
/??n?l?s?s/.
/??n?l?s?s/。
/??n?l?si?z/.
/??n?l?si?z/。
And if you're not sure how to remember these two words, then remember the difference between this and these.
如果你不知道如何記住這兩個單詞,那么記住 this 和 these 得區(qū)別。
Because analysis rhymes with this, this analysis.
因為我們會說“this analysis”。
And analyses rhymes with these, these analyses, right?
然后會說“these analyses”,對么?
Super simple.
非常簡單。
And if you're not sure about the distinction between this and these, then you should definitely go and check out my video about this and these.
如果你不確定 this 和 these 得區(qū)別,那么你一定要去看看我得這期視頻。
Okay, I'm going to put a link below.
我會在下面放一個鏈接。
Okay, so analysis and analyses.
好了,/??n?l?s?s/和/??n?l?si?z/。
Now, the verb is a little different, and why is that?
動詞會有點(diǎn)不同,為什么呢?
Listen to the word, analyze, analysis, analyze.
聽,/??n?la?z/,/??n?l?s?s/。
What's the difference?
有什么區(qū)別?
So the difference again is in the primary stress, right?
區(qū)別還是在主重音上,對吧?
Here the primary stress falls on analyze, the first syllable.
Analyze 得重音在第壹個音節(jié)上。
/??n?la?z/.
/??n?la?z/。
So the first syllable is actually the '?' as in cat and then you have a schwa,/??n?/.
所以第壹個音節(jié)實(shí)際上是 cat 里得'?',然后是弱讀音,/??n?/。
Unlike the first word '??n?', schwa and then the '?' as in cat, here they switch places.
不像第壹個單詞'??n?',先是弱讀音,然后是 cat 中得“?”音,在這里它們互換了位置。
/??n?/.
/??n?/。
Find how things work.
發(fā)現(xiàn)事物是如何運(yùn)作得。
/??n?/.
/??n?/。
And then you have the common suffix 'la?z', like realize or recognize.
然后是常見得后綴“l(fā)a?z”,例如 realize 或 recognize。
/??n?la?z/.
/??n?la?z/。
I have to analyze the system.
我必須分析這個系統(tǒng)。
A thorough analysis.
透徹得分析。
I've submitted my analyses.
我已經(jīng)提交了我得分析報告。
Analyze, analysis, analyses.
/??n?la?z/,/??n?l?s?s/,/??n?l?si?z/。
That's it.
這就是今天得全部內(nèi)容。
And you know what, if you want to make it your own and if you want to really remember that the distinction between these three words, you just have to practice.
如果你想把它變成你自己得知識,如果你想真正記住這三個詞之間得區(qū)別,那你需要練習(xí)。
So, say each word separately, slowly until you feel pretty comfortable and confident about the pronunciation.
所以,把每個單詞分開說,慢慢地說,直到你對發(fā)音感到非常舒服和自信。
And then use it in a phrase or sentence cuz you know, a word outside of context never sticks, right?
然后把它用在一個短語或句子中,因為你知道,脫離上下文得單詞永遠(yuǎn)不會被記住,對吧?
You can never really remember the word if you don't put it in context.
如果你不把它放在上下文中,你永遠(yuǎn)不會真正記住這個詞。
All right, so do that.
記得要這么做哦。
And that's it.
就這樣啦。
